5 Things You Must Do After Waking Up
How you spend your morning will determine how you spend your day
How do you spend your mornings? Do you roll around in bed scrolling through yourphone for several hours and end up wasting half of your day?
The precious morning time of each day will determine how the rest of your day will go, so I choose to always start my morning with these 5 things to be more energized and productive during the rest of my day.
1. Drink a cup of warm water right after waking up
I mentioned this in my previous article on “22 Easy Habits to Make 2022 Your Year”, so go read that article if you want to know why this is very important for your body!
2. Create your plan/to-do list for the day
I would actually recommend doing this the night before, but if you did not have time to do so, definitely remember to make one as soon as you wake up. When your plan is clear, your actions will also be clear. With a plan, your productivity will definitely skyrocket.
3. Spend some time reading or learning something
After a long night’s sleep, you have the a gift from your body — the ability to focus better. After sleeping, you have more energy and it is the perfect time to do something to improve yourself, like reading a book or an article on Medium. This will also set your brain up for the rest of the day to better soak in knowledge.
4. Stretch or exercise a little
After laying on the bed for several hours, it is crucial to stretch your body after waking up. This is as easy as just spending one minute doing some easy stretches on the bed after waking up.
However, if you have more time, exercising on an empty stomach after waking up is also beneficial and can help you burn more calories and improve metabolism! I would recommend aerobic exercises during the morning, like running.
5. Eat a healthy breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and you can feel free to eat as much as you like without being afraid of gaining weight. It is much better to eat more in the morning than to eat late at night, which is harmful for your health as well.
Having a balanced breakfast meal will provide you energy for the entire day, so definitely spend some time in the morning making yourself a healthy breakfast!
